Heart-Break Anniversary

Penning down after a long time,

Remembered a memory of lost line,

When days were warm and nights were cozy,

When we talked till 2 am yet to be drowsy.

When we were young yet growing old,

When weekends were to meet you,

And weekdays to miss you,

When we lost the count of time,

And travelled from 5 to 9.

It wasn’t easy to forget you,

Nor was it easy to choose between me and you,

Yet decisions were taken,

And hearts were broken.

We were never meant to be,

Yet our chapters were bonded,

We never crossed our paths again

Yet it feels like yesterday in memory lane

And now, I am left wondering:

Was it all in vain?

Or were we lovers curing our pain?

The pain that we never talked,

About the previous chapters that we carried onto each other

Was I good enough for you? 

Was I fooled by you?

All this feeling aches my heart,

My heavy heart aches for breath, 

My soul craves for you,

And everyday I long for you,

All I can say is thank you,

My love, I thank you.

Maybe in another life:

 I don’t have to leave you,

Maybe in this life:

 you have to forgive me.

You had your insecurities,

 I had my reasons,

And we decided to part our ways 

As I bid adieu;
